Why William Ruto Should Resign | Raila Supporters Now Demands
Cotu secretary Francis Atwoli claims that DP William Ruto was a beneficiary of the deep state and should, therefore, resign.
- Kalonzo Musyoka, the ex-vice president, claims that the deep state exists during the election periods to help people get electoral posts.
- Suba MP Junet Mohamed says that Ruto is accusing the Deep estate after benefiting from them.
On the country’s continuous fights over politics of succession from Uhuru Kenyatta, supporters of the the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have shown a constant battle against the DP William Ruto bid for the presidency.
While speaking to the journalists in Kajiado, Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli responded by advising Ruto to down his tools and focus on presidential campaigns 2022. Atwoli was responding to the DP speech on 11th Tuesday,2020.
According to Francis Atwoli, Ruto was among the beneficiaries of the deep state in the 2013 election as he was one of the big players.
“The best thing the DP William Ruto needs to do is resign if he does know the difference between him and the deep state. In 2013 when he went to The Hague, the then president Mwai Kibaki asked his attorney general Githu Mwigai to represent him at the International Court of Justice (ICC).
Then it was the deep state. The deep state was not fighting him,” said Atwoli.
However, the DP in his speech said that plans to rig the elections by the deep state doesn’t shake his will for presidency. He backed up the statement that the government’s mafia system is on the run to kill his ambition.
Suna MP Junet Mohamed also pointed out that the DP is now dropping the deep state after receiving its benefits. Junet added that the DP now feels that the deep state is useless after he was made to that top sit by the system.
“You cannot be benefiting from the deep state until you become the deputy president and then later dump it when you think it is not useful to you,” said Junet.
In his statement with NTV, Kalonzo Musyoka, the ex-vice president, said that Ruto’s speech was an address to his boss and it was unnecessary. He also revealed that for one to get a powerful political position, it depends with the system. Kalonzo further advised the DP that it was better to have done an honorable thing by resigning from his current position.
