US President Donald Trump Has Been Nominated For The Nobel Peace Prize
Donald Trump has received a nomination for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. The nomination was as a result of his leadership in brokering the Abraham Accords, bringing about the full normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and marking a major step toward a more peaceful Middle East. This historic diplomatic breakthrough between Israel and the United Arab Emirates is the most significant step toward peace in the Middle East in more than a quarter of a century.
The Progress Party’s Christian Tybring-Gjedde, in an interview on Fox News, cited the peace deal brokered by the U.S. between Israel and the UAE as the reason for the nomination.
“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde said.
“Donald Trump’s shock inclusion has seen the odds of him winning the prize he has craved for so long fall significantly,” Betfair’s Sam Rosbottom said in a statement.
“And now in a year where he is an 11/10 shot to win re-election, it’s impossible to rule him out entirely.” He dded.
This nomination comes amid widespread international support for the peace accords and optimism that the region finally may be turning a corner. By uniting two of America’s closest partners in the region—something many said could not be done—this agreement will create a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous Middle East- A statement from the official white house website read.
The nomination by a far-right Norwegian politician has put Mr Trump’s name forward for the 2021 prize race together with other nominees across the world.
Trump was quick to welcome the nomination and hopes to win.
