TSC announces new changes on teacher promotions and transfers
The Teachers service Commission TSC has made changes on modalities during application of teachers promotions and transfer application process.
With the new changes, all teachers will be required to use the online platform while making applications for promotions and transfers.
In a circular dated 15th of February, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia stated that promotions and transfer application processes will no longer be manual. This is as the employer sought to provide its services on an online platform.
Effective 1st March, the commission has announced that all the manual applications will cease being in use and therefore called upon all teachers to transition to the online process.
“To this end, applications for transfer shall be accessed through the Commission’s website at tsc.go.ke as per the attached schedule while the mode and manner of application for both recruitment and promotion will be communicated in the adverts whenever there is a vacancy,” the circular read in part.
The change in application process does not only target employed teachers alone but those on internship program as well.

Furthermore, the commission has introduced an e-platform for official emails, virtual meetings, and remote learning.
The platforms aims at providing teachers with a platform for online virtual meetings where teachers will be able to create peer groups to carry out learning activities including mentoring and coaching.
Teachers can access the portal by logging in to the TSC commission’s website and activating their emails.
Personal phone numbers and individual teacher’s TSC number will be required during the activation process.
The exercise of activating emails took effect from February 15, 2021, and will end on April 30, 2021
