larry Madowo gives a shocking revelation on late Bob Collymore’s advice to him 10 years ago
Bob Collymore was overwhelmingly loved by Kenyans. A simple man at the helm of the biggest telecommunication Company in Kenya- Safaricom.
What made Bob Collymore a sweet soul was his honesty and sincerity. Whoever he came across he lit their souls and one such is BBC correspondent and Kenyan born news anchor Larry Madowo.
Larry has revealed that Bob Collymore encouraged him to learn how to shave himself like he used to. This is an advice the late Safaricom CEO gave him almost 10 years ago.
In his opinion, Bob said spending money on a haircut was a waste of money.
But what took him so long to heed the advice?
Larry revealed that he decided to practice what Bob had advised him after his barber went on a 2 weeks vacation.
He realized that in the two weeks he had saved $40 by shaving himself.
“I’ve finally learnt to shave myself almost 10 years after Bob Collymore(RIP) encouraged me to do it like he used to. He said I was wasting money. He would be proud” Larry Madowo stated.

Bob Collymore was well know for his bald head shave signature that everyone would identify him with. Little was known about his barber and finally we now know that Bob used to shave himself.
Bob Collymore was the CEO of Safaricom and at the time of his death he was the highest paid CEO in Kenya.
He took Safaricom to greater heights and at the time of his demise, he had launched various products that have seen Safaricom hold the top position as one of the most valuable companies in the country.
Bob Collymore succumbed to cancer on 1st of July 2019.
