Governor Mike Sonko -I Regret Joining Politics

It is rare for vocal politician such as Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to display his regrets in life, With his flamboyant nature, Sonko is seen in the public eye as one individual who has had the privilege to have all he wants thanks to his wealth status. He is also perceived as one individual who can go for any position and get it however senior it is.
His political muscles propelled him to the most coveted Nairobi governorship flopping Kidero and won the sit to many people’s disbelieve.
To many, he may have achieved his dreams but to Sonko the game of politics has turned to be a nightmare to him and a thorn in the foot.
Sonko has been on the receiving end and on many occasions finding himself rubbing shoulders with many. The now embattled governor who was barred from his office by the court has found more reason to regret his decision to join politics.

The governor now says the decision to become a politician was one of the worst decision he has ever made in his life and asked God for forgiveness for his ignorance.
“I swear! Haki yaki ya Mungu tena! I regret joining politics. It was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. As I retire to bed, I pray that God forgives me of my ignorance that led me to abandon his people in the wilderness after being forced by circumstances.” Sonko wrote on his Twitter page


The embattled governor made the remarks after sharing a video of President Uhuru Kenyatta calling out ODM party leader Raila Odinga during the 2013 presidential election campaigns.
The Sentiments made by Sonko was as a result of the previous political events that saw the president and his Deputy face ICC case and the recent utterance of inappropriate sentiments directed to Mama Ngina by a section of leaders.
