Form 3 boy fakes his kidnapping, calls family demanding ransom

A form 3 boy from Meru has done the unthinkable after he faked his kidnapping and called his family and relative to demand ransom for his freedom.
The form three boy is said to have colluded with people known to him to fake his kidnapping and issued threats that his life was in danger and demanded ransom to secure his freedom.
The disturbing call from strangers prompted the family to seek help from the police.
Upon reporting the matter to the police, DCI detectives embarked on an operation to trace the student’s whereabouts.
However, after days of search, the police discovered that the student had faked his kidnapping and was whiling his time away unperturbed at Nkubu town in Meru.

Director of Investigation boss George Kinoti has cautioned school going students to restrain themselves from engaging in criminal activities and instead focus on their education.
He stated that any form of criminal activity will be met with the full force of the law regardless of one’s status in the society.
The boy’s parents are said to be poor and one may wondered why the boy went to such length to distorted money from his poor parents
