ACK Mothers Union Honors Late Member Beatrice Mghoi Wasike in Moving Ceremony
The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Mothers Union today received the body of their late member, Beatrice Mghoi Wasike, in a heartfelt ceremony ahead of her burial tomorrow at Acunet Village, near Malaba Stadium. Beatrice Mghoi Wasike, 74, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 20th, 2024. According to reports, she had complained of tiredness and body pains earlier that day and tragically passed on while watching the 7 pm news in her living room. A postmortem confirmed that she died of a heart attack.A devoted Christian with strong Anglican faith, Mama Beatrice was an active member of the ACK Emmanuel Church in Changamwe, Mombasa. She served in various leadership positions, including as the Vice-Chairlady of the Mothers Union. After relocating to Malaba, she continued her service by joining ACK St. James Malaba, where she remained an active member of the Mothers Union until her untimely death. Throughout her life, she was a fervent prayer warrior, often praying for her family and others in need.Mama Beatrice was the beloved mother of Claude Karani, Director at Capricon Security, Oscar Onyiko, Airfreight Manager at AGL Kenya Limited, Rose Wasike, Bond Officer at Kenfreight (K) Ltd Malaba, Violet Wasike, Customer Service Officer at Elavon Kenya Ltd Mombasa, and Susan Wasike.The body of Mama Beatrice was removed from Lifecare Bungoma Mortuary for a requiem mass at St. James ACK Church in Malaba. The service was attended by the Mothers Union, family members, and other mourners, including former Angurai South MCA Grace Olita. The coffin, bearing the remains of Mama Beatrice, was carried by Mothers Union members to and from the church with dignity and respect.Tears filled the room as Mama Beatrice’s daughters and grandchildren viewed her lifeless body at their residence in Acunet, reflecting the deep sorrow of the family.The requiem mass was presided over by Rev. John Njoroge of Machakusi Archdeaconry, with support from Archdeacon Isabella Inyele of St. Thomas Anagoro and Rev. Ben Oriama, the newly posted Malaba Archdeacon.
