Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) is a public university located in Nyeri, Kenya. It was established in 1972 as a constituent college of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and later became an independent institution in 2007. The university is named after Dedan Kimathi, a prominent Kenyan freedom fighter who played a crucial role in the Mau Mau uprising against British colonial rule.
