Kenyatta University is a public chartered university by the government of Kenya situated The main campus of Kenyatta University is located at Kahawa, Kiambu County in Ruiru Constituency, approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi), by road, northeast of the central business district of Nairobi Kenya. The university was started in 1981 as a Middle Level College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JKCAT)) by the Government of Kenya with the generous assistance from the Japanese Government.
The university enrolls both government sponsored as self sponsored students. All the course offered at Kenyatta University are accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS.

Kenyatta University Intake and Admission Requirements
To undertake any degree course at Kenyatta University, one is required to have attained a KCSE mean grade of C+ and above with C+ English or Kiswahili. You will also need to have attained at least C+ in subjects related to your field of studies. Certificate and Diploma courses have less qualification requirement by the university.
Admission at the University happens each year. The main intake usually happens in September. The university carries out intakes in the months of January and May as well.

To apply for admission at Kenyatta University, use the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS online students portal. Alternatively, you can visit the University to process your application or download the application forms from the university official website.

Application for admission into the programme can be done online by a simple click http://applications.ku.ac.ke
All you need is the following:
Ensure you have met the eligibility criteria for the selected program.
Ensure you have scanned Academic Transcripts, Certificates and Passport photo.
Ensure you have scanned identification documents, either an Identification Card or Passport.
Ensure you have the required application fee of Kshs. 2,000/= for East Africans on your MPESA line for completing the application process. Payment for online application is only by MPESA through details provided on the application portal only.
Application forms can be obtained from Kenyatta University, Admissions Block, Office No. 12 or at the Regional Centers based in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kitui, Mombasa, Kisumu and Garissa or be downloaded from our website www.ku.ac.ke
East African applicants shall pay non-refundable processing fee of Kshs. 2,000/= for through Bank deposit only into any of the following bank accounts:

Kenyatta University Fee Structure
The fee charged at Kenyatta University highly depends on the course you are taking and the course level. You will pay less to study a certificate course and more to pay for a degree course.Tuition fees for Undergraduate, Diploma & Certificate Programmes ranges between Kshs. 40,000 and Kshs. 450,400.
