Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is a public chartered university by the government of Kenya situated in Juja, 36 kilometres North East of Nairobi, along Nairobi-Thika Highway. The university was started in 1981 as a Middle Level College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JKCAT)) by the Government of Kenya with the generous assistance from the Japanese Government.

The university offers both undergraduate and post graduate courses. All the course offered at JKUAT University are accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS.

JKUAT University Intake and Admission Requirements

To undertake any degree course at JKUAT University, one is required to have attained a KCSE mean grade of C+ and above with C+ English or Kiswahili. You will also need to have attained at least C+ in subjects related to your field of studies. Certificate and Diploma courses have less qualification requirement by the university.

Admission at JKUAT University happens each year. The main intake usually happens in September. The university carries out intakes in the months of January and May as well.
