It is a Seventh-day Adventist school that was established in 1966 as a small school, with few dormitories, but has grown considerably since then. The school has always maintained a good run in the KCSE examinations over the years. For instance, in the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results the school emerged among the top 100 schools in the whole country.

The school surprised many when all the candidates scored B and above in the 2022 KCSE results. From the analysis of the results, only a single candidate scored B, while 76 had B+, 383 A- as 28 scored A compared to four in 2021.
