Over 350,000 Apply For TSC Vacancies

The recently announced 9,000 vacancies by The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have attracted over 350,000 applicants by close of the application window.
All the candidates were mandated to apply for the TSC jobs online through the TSC portal.
The shortlisted candidates are expected to go through an interview exercise slated for between Thursday, July 22, and Wednesday, July 28.
According to a story that appeared on Daily Nation on 19th July, the interview panels will be spread across the country and will consist of the chair of the board of management, school principals, TSC County Director and a subject specialist.
Once the interviews are done, applicants who may harbour complaints will be allowed to lodge them between Friday, July 28 and Friday, August 6, 2021.
Of the 9000 vacancies, the commission is seeking to employ 4,000 new secondary school teachers to be employed on a permanent and pensionable term.

1,000 vacancies in primary schools and also the commission intends to promote 1,000 teachers from primary to secondary schools.

Also 2,897 more will be hired to replace retired teachers in high schools.
Those who will secure the employment opportunities are expected to report to their new working stations on 1st of September
