Bobi Wine forced to end interview with Jeff Kionange prematurely as soldiers storm his compound

Drama ensued on Tuesday morning as Ugandan presidential candidate Bobi Wine was forced to cut short his interview with Hot 96 FM presenter Jeff Koinange following a raid by soldiers at his compound.
Speaking to Jeff Koinange and comedian Professor Hamo of the Royal Media-owned station Hot 96 morning show, the musician-turned politician said soldiers were attempting to break into his compound and his security team was being assaulted.
“So I am sorry even right now as we speak, we are being raided by the military. I have to end the interview because I can see soldiers beating up my security guards. I have to go down and give it attention,” he said.
Moments after hanging up Bobi Wine took to twitter and reported that the army had raided his home and arrested all his security guards and anyone who was found within his compound.
He also stated that no reason was given for the arrest. He condemned the action by soldiers calling it an act of impunity.

Bobi Wine during his interview with Jeff Koinange exuded confidence that he will oust long serving President Yoweri Museveni.

Bobi Wine who has been campaigning to become Uganda’s president in Thursday’s election says he has lost count of the number of times he has been violently harassed by the authorities since he announced his presidential ambitions.
“I don’t know how many times I’ve been arrested. But, for the last 69 days, I’ve been arrested almost every day but detained only about 11 times. I’ve been shot at four times.” Bobi Wine told Financial Times.
The misery he has gone through has seen him miss death by a whisker and says he is only lucky to be alive today.
