DP Ruto- I supported Uhuru not because he was a Kikuyu
President Uhuru Kenyatta hinted at a possibility of supporting a different candidate away from the two major ruling tribes in Kenya come 2022.
The political temperatures in the country continues to rise and the strained relationship between the deputy president and his boss president Uhuru Kenyatta continues to widen.
Following sentiments by President Uhuru Kenyatta on possibilities of supporting another candidate other than one from the two major ruling tribes in Kenya, Deputy President William Ruto hit back stating that he did not support Uhuru basing on ethnicity.
During the funeral service of Musalia Mudavadi’s mother leaders especially from the western Kenya called upon Musalia Mudavadi to via for the presidency in 2020 stating that he was the most suitable candidate to be the president of the republic of Kenya.
President Uhuru during his speech would weigh in on the matter stating that only two tribes have been at the helm of power in this country and it was time for a different tribes to lead Kenyans.
The president’s sentiments seems to have rattled members of the Ruto camp with many coming out to claim that the president was dividing Kenyans along ethnic lines.
Dp Ruto while attending a church service at Kayole stated that he supported president Kenyatta because they had an agenda for the people of Kenya and not because of his tribe.
“When we came together with president Uhuru Kenyatta, i did not support him because he was a Kikuyu, I supported Uhuru Kenyatta because we had an agenda for the people of Kenya.” Dp Ruto stated.
leaders among them Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and Francis Atwoli urged the president to crack the weep and discipline errant members within the Jubilee party.

Last week a section of politicians affiliated to DP Ruto launched United Democratic Democratic Alliance (UDA) stating that they could no longer voice their issues under the ruling Jubilee party.
