Julius Wambua the man framed for defiling daughter freed on bail
Last year, Kenyans were shocked by a piece of investigative episode of Prison Dairies that was aired on Citizen TV by Lulu Hassan where Julius Wambua’s daughter confessed of framing her father over a defilement incident that never happened.
On Wednesday 16th , the court ruled that he be released on Ksh. 30,000 cash bail pending trial.
“The case should begin afresh and all sentences by the Kithimani Court and High Court be quashed,” Justice George Odunga ruled.
The Judge further noted that Wambua is deemed an innocent person and there are no compelling reasons to deny him bond.
Wambua had been serving a life sentence after he was found guilty of defiling his daughter in 2011.
Before Dorcas her daughter came out to recant the evidence last year, Wambua was serving a life sentence.
His daughter confessed to have falsely accused his father and admitted that she was coerced by the mother to do so.
