Jalango surrenders twitter account to hackers, opens a new one
Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalango has opened a new Twitter account after falling victim to hackers and failing to recover a previous one.
The Kiss100 radio presenter has been out of twitter for months now after losing his twitter handle @JalangoMwenyewe page to hackers.
Jalango had pleaded with the public to get help regain his Twitter handle but all was futile. He even went ahead and announced a Ks.50,000 cash prize for anyone who would help him regain the account.
“ I have been trying to regain the account for almost a year now, there was a time the person trying to handle it was almost getting it but the hacker keeps on changing the account every time” Jalango’ stated
The account in question had a whopping 500K followers and had been active for years.
After failing to regain control of the account, Jalango threw in the towel and decided to open a new twitter account.
The new account handle @ThisIsJalas has since gained traction and already has over 1000 followers.
“Let’s start again” Jalango wrote.

Incidences of popular personalities losing their social media accounts to hackers is not new. Last year Rev. Cathy Kiuna narrated how they lost an account to hackers that had thousands of followers.
Hackers have derived ways of stealing accounts with huge followings, then change the account before they sell them or use them for their own interests.
