TSC Orders Teachers To Report To Schools By Monday

The Teachers Service Commission -TSC has asked teachers to report to their working stations by Monday next week.
The announcement was made by TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia on Monday 21st following a meeting among stakeholders at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development to map out reopening of learning institutions.
“Teachers are free to report back to school anytime from now until Monday in readiness for when schools reopen,” she said.
Macharia said teachers will ensure that learners recover the lost time.

Concerning school reopening date Education CS Prof Magoha said they are waiting for the stakeholders meeting which will be before September 28 to endorse the recommendations in the school reopening guidelines.
It was hinted that the report presented to the stakeholders recommends 19th October as the official reopening date for schools.
However, Magoha gave a go-ahead to final year students in universities and those taking courses that could require physical engagement to report back to school.
“University students in their final year who can’t do their science practicals exams which require physical presence at their institutions, can go ahead and do so bearing in mind the strict Covid-19 protocols.” Magoha stated.
